The Specs (?!) - Revisited !!!

Oflate I have been asked the same set of questions repeatedly. Questions like, "when are you getting married ? What kind of girl you would be comfortable with you ?. In other words, "whats the spec ?" (short form of specifications !)..


Just decided to sit down and write the specs.. I have been thinking about it for sometime. I thought I should put them down somewhere and freeze it for sometime. I know I can't freeze the specs forever as they tend to change from time to time. ;-)


hmm... To start with the "looks"... Height around 5.5 feet and weight around 60 kg (don't know whether its too high or too less !!!). Shouldn't be very fair.. (am very cautious here as I don't want to hear words like "i made a mistake in marrying this dark lean guy" at the later part of my life).. Long hair is prefered.. anyways it will get shorter and shorter thanks to different versions of shampoos and hair treatement available in the market..


Coming to the more important part of Specs.. the Functional Characteristics (?!)... She should be caring and love people around her unconditionally.. If nothing could be done to change the ways, she should "accept" people as they are, instead of developing a hatred against them. Should have respect for elders and treat them passionately. Should be a out-spoken, open-minded person who believes in expressing the emotions, conveying her thoughts, desires, preferences and goals... she should not be restraining herself for any reason..

She should be a career woman ... am I getting materialistic here ?... am I money-minded ?... No.. Not really... I just don't want to a draw a boundary and limit someone's freedom in the name of marriage. I do enjoy exploring the world and beyond. It would be mere injustice if I restrict her to the role of a home-maker and confine herself with the home.. With she being a career woman, I believe that the exposure level would be far better and that should help in setting higher goals in life and working towards them.

She should be able to handle things independently and should be able to take care of herself.. You might ask, "in that case, why the hell should she marry you ? If she has to take care of herself, why are you there ?". hmm.. Let me clarify.. I don't want to add another person in my "dependents" list through my marriage. I am looking for a life partner.. A partner in a true sense should be willing to work with me and share the accountability and responsibility for everything that need to done / can happen in life. I strongly believe that only a person who can do things "independently" and has the ability to take care of herself will be able to be my partner.

She should believe in living the life in the simplest way possible.. And be prepared to face the ups and downs in life (after all, Life is a full circle !!!) without complaining about the factors that are never under our control. should be willing to take risks, accept challenges with pride and passion.

hmmm.. am really tired of thinking... I need a break.. Let me read through what I had typed.. there are so many "be" s.. I can't help it though.. After all I am not demanding too much.. ;-)

Ohh.. am getting a call.. its from my Mom..

"Yes Mom.. tell me".. "ok.." "ok.." "ok.." "So you like the family and the girl?"..
"ok.." "ok.." "mom ! whatever you say.. am ok with it".. "mom ! your wish is my wish"..


Huuuuuuuhhhhh.. a long call it was.. Ohh... what I was doing.. hmm.. I was writing the "specs".. its all over now.. No point in continuing it any further.

Let me put a FULL STOP.

One week later.... an update. Again my Mom called me and said the Astromatch did not go well.... So.... am back... :-)

Will keep revisiting the Specs... So keep checking this space, if you are interested !!! ;-)
